Heravan

Legal

Who owns what is on this site, how to get a listing changed or taken down, and what we do with the little information we hold.

Copyright and database right

The Heravan directories, including the words on every page, the choice of what is listed and the way it is arranged, are protected by copyright and by UK database right. Both belong to Heravan Ltd.

You are welcome to read all of it. You may link to any page here without asking us, and you may quote a short extract as long as you say it came from Heravan and link back to the page you took it from.

What you may not do is copy, scrape or republish the listings in bulk, or use them in another directory, dataset or product. That needs our written permission first. Ask us athello@heravan.co.uk and say what you want to do with it.

A producer’s own name, logo and trade marks belong to that producer, not to us. We show a logo only where the business has given us permission to.

Some of what you read here is public information, reproduced under the open licence it is published with: company records from Companies House, hygiene ratings from the Food Standards Agency, and place data from Ordnance Survey, Royal Mail and the Office for National Statistics. The credit lines those licences require sit at the foot of every page built from that data.

Corrections and removal

If you run a business listed here and something is wrong, or you would rather not be listed at all, email hello@heravan.co.uk. Please put the web address of the listing in your message and tell us what is wrong, or that you want it taken down.

We answer within 5 working days. Every change is made by a person, not automatically, and we may come back to you with one question to be sure we are changing the right entry.

When the claim form is open you will also be able to claim your listing from its own page and edit it yourself. Until then, email is the way to do it.

Privacy

Reading the site. There are no accounts and nothing to sign in to. The site sets no cookies, there are no tracking or advertising tags, and there is no analytics that identifies a person. The pages carry no scripts from anybody else, and even the typefaces are served from this site, so your browser is never asked to fetch anything from another company while you read. Cloudflare, who serve the site for us, keep the ordinary records a web server keeps and show us counts of requests by page and country. Those are totals, not names, and we add nothing to them.

The forms and the contact address. If you use one of our forms, or email us, we hold what you send: your name, your email address, the business you are writing about and your message. We keep it for two reasons and no others: to answer you, and to have a record of who claimed which listing. It is not sold and it is not shared with anyone else, and we delete it if you ask us to.

The bot check. Our forms are protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, which tells a person apart from an automated script. It is usually invisible and you will not have to do anything. Cloudflare sees the request in order to make that judgement; it is a spam measure, not a way of following you around.

Who is responsible. The data controller is Heravan Ltd, company number 17530347, registered office Unit 2e Nursery Works, 100 Little London Road, Sheffield S8 0UJ. Write to hello@heravan.co.uk about anything on this page.

Your rights. You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, and ask us to delete it. Emailhello@heravan.co.uk and we will answer within 5 working days. If you are not happy with how we have handled it, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
